Contrast Echocardiography Case Studies – CME

Sonographers and Physicians need up-to-date information to understand the important role of contrast echocardiography for the diagnosis, monitoring, and management of cardiovascular disease. Reliable endocardial border definition is crucial for the assessment of LV wall motion and detection of coronary artery disease (CAD), which can be difficult in some patients. In situations where quality images can only be recorded using special breathing maneuvers, clinicians may find that stress echocardiography with contrast agents is of benefit, particularly in obtaining reliable loops at peak stress. This webinar will present case studies illustrating the use of contrast to improve image quality and diagnostic accuracy in echocardiography.

  • How to properly use contrast imaging to evaluate cardiac masses and chest pain.
  • When to use conventional LVO imaging vs. VLMI (very low MI imaging) for different pathology.
  • How to identify cardiac rupture using contrast imaging.
  • How to identify regional wall motion abnormalities and aneurysms using contrast imaging.

This program has been designed for physicians with an interest in cardiac imaging (including, but not limited to, cardiologists, interventional cardiologists, cardiac, and vascular surgeons), and other healthcare professionals involved in echocardiography.

This CME activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education.   Northwest Imaging Forums is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.  NWIF designates this live activity for a maximum of 1.0 hour AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.
