The UAB Partners in Progress symposium is designed to address the evolving educational needs of imaging professionals by highlighting advancements across a spectrum of imaging modalities, including MRI, CT, ultrasound, nuclear medicine, and interventional radiology. As imaging technology rapidly progresses, there is a critical need for healthcare providers to stay current with innovations that impact diagnostic accuracy, operational efficiency, and patient outcomes. This interdisciplinary program brings together expert faculty to share insights, case studies, and evidence-based practices, fostering collaboration among radiologists, technologists, physicists, and other allied health professionals. Attendees will gain practical knowledge and strategic perspectives on emerging tools, technologies, and techniques that are shaping the future of diagnostic imaging.

Program Description / Statement of Need:

As imaging technology rapidly progresses, there is a critical need for healthcare providers to stay current with innovations that impact diagnostic accuracy, operational efficiency, and patient outcomes. This interdisciplinary program brings together expert faculty to share insights, case studies, and evidence-based practices, fostering collaboration among radiologists, technologists, physicists, and other allied health professionals. Attendees will gain practical knowledge and strategic perspectives on emerging tools, technologies, and techniques that are shaping the future of diagnostic imaging.

Target Audience:

The content of this CME/CE/SDMS CME Symposium is intended for healthcare professionals including Radiologists and other Physicians, Technologists, Radiologic and Imaging Nurses, Sonographers, Facility Managers, Researchers, and other healthcare professionals.

CME/CE/SDMS CME Accreditation:

This CME activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education. Northwest Imaging Forums is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. NWIF designates this live activity for a maximum of 8.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

This MRI program has also been submitted for approval of up to 8.0 hours of category A CE technologist credit as designated by The International Society for MR Radiographers & Technologists (ISMRT) RCEEM. ARRT regulations state that an individual may not repeat a live activity for credit if it was reported in the same or any subsequent biennium. To receive the maximum amount of credit hours, you must attend all sessions. Verification of attendance policies will be in place for each lecture.

This SDMS CME activity has been planned and submitted for approval of 1.0 hours of SDMS CME Credit Category OT, 0.5 hours of SDMS CME Credit Category AB & 0.5 hours of SDMS CME Credit Category BR, by the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (SDMS).

Objectives

• Describe properties of available GBCAs and how they matter in the selection of an MR contrast agent.
• Explore advances in MRI which have been particularly helpful as it relates to breast MRI.
• Understand the evolving world of cardiac CT.
• Review current and future AI algorithms used in medical imaging including tools for image reconstruction, patient triage, radiology reporting, tumor measurements, and opportunistic screening.
