Exercise stress echocardiography can assess significant coronary artery disease in patients with no history of CAD and to assess myocardial ischemia in patients with known CAD. In these patients, often, contrast agents are administered. For other indications such as valve diseases and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, contrast agents are occasionally needed for the improvement of endocardial definition. For these indications, the instrument, settings, and
contrast dosages can be different. Unconventional uses of contrast will be discussed and reviewed in case studies. This course is specifically designed with Sonographers and Cardiologists in mind.
- Review cardiac anatomy and explore how Right Ventricular (RV) assessment requires multiple scanning windows.
- Review Case Studies.
- Understand the Principles of Contrast Echo.
